Our cedar restoration process:
Step 1: Soft Wash Cleaning
When we wash cedar or any wood for that matter we DO NOT use a chlorine bleach solution.
This will burn and dry out your wood and is very harmful towards the longevity of the surface.
Instead, we clean with an oxidizing agent that gently extracts embedded mold, mildew, and
other contaminants to the surface. We allow dwell time for our cleaning agent to work on the
surface and then gently rinse with the grain of the wood, leaving a pristine and uniformly clean
finish!
Step 2: Wood Brightening
Following the Cedar Soft wash cleaning process, we apply a brightening agent to the wood that
makes a WOW of a difference. Whether you have a red or yellow cedar home, our brightening
process brings the vibrant natural colors back to life and they remain even after the wet wood
has dried. There is also a fundamental reason as to why we brighten each cedar restoration
after cleaning and that is to neutralize and balance the PH of the wood so that it is properly
prepared to accept a penetrating wood stain or sealer.
Step 3: Wood Sealing / Staining (Recommended)
The final step to our cedar/wood restoration process is to protect the wood. By applying a
natural oil sealer or a tinted stain, not only will it enhance the aesthetic of your home’s exterior,
you will give UV protection, hydrophobic quality, inhibit mold and mildew growth, and provide
easier future maintenance.
